Being Tested

This is a trying time for my family and me. My husband has interviewed for jobs and is waiting for answers. There are many delays. He has another interview coming next week. The days are strange and long as we wait for emails and phone calls. I feel as if I'm being tested to see if I can learn patience.

I had a powerful energy healing session last night from my friends Candy & Ming who reported afterward that I'm standing in between two doors, holding on to both, and neither of them can open. I have to let go and stop blocking them so the right one can open. Surrender - it's a lesson I'm trying to learn to do.

Of course, I know that I have been anxious over what will happen. We might move, we might stay. The delays are long and trying. So knowing that surrender is needed is different from actually knowing how to make it happen. And there's something amusing about what I just said: making surrender happen. As if it's something that can be forced - that's the opposite of surrender! Even talking about it is difficult to do in terms that make sense.

Knowing what needs to happen is the first step towards doing it. I know that. Now... how to do it. Here's what I am going to try:
  • conscious breathing - I'm going to take a few minutes, several times during the day, to stop, breathe slowly, and be present. It's a mini-meditation moment.

  • asking for help - I'm going to ask my angels and guides for help in arranging things for the best good of our family - not once, but at least daily. That will help me remember that I've given the process over to those who can make it happen.

  • catching my monkey mind - When I feel myself slipping into the "what if" state of mind, trying to figure out what I would do in any variation of the possible scenarios, I'll stop, and go to that peaceful place by breathing, and remember that I'm letting the angels handle things.
That's the plan. I'll keep you posted on how it works. Feel free to offer suggestions and encouragement!

Peace.

Alice,

When we first started working together you reminded me of the importance of breathing. That teaching has served me well recently - as I am SURE it will serve you during this time.

You also taught me the concept of just letting go and "Be Reiki". When I have stood in my own way, this concept has helped me to let go of my attachments to outcomes. "Be Reiki" my friend.

My encouragement for you is what Martin Luther's friend told him during the trying times of the Reformation - "help yourself by helping others."

Continue to help others - as you do so beautifully - in the process you will find any and all help that you need.

Thank you for sharing your life with us.

You are a blessing.
Frank

Frank,

As always, my friend, thank you for your presence and consistent friendship.

Thank you for the excellent reminders to breathe and be. I live to help others and, as you show so generously, they come back to offer me the same.

In gratitude,
Alice

Thank you for the post Alice. Breathe and let go. Remember the door that opens doesn't necessarily mean its the door that you move. Its the door that allows you to grow. The Universe wants you even bigger. Let go and you will be so amazed at what will come to you and we'll be there to cheer you on! Ming

Hi Ming,

Thank YOU for the energy and the message. I'm doing my best to let go, and will continue to do so. I look forward to seeing the results it will bring as I learn and move forward. I'm ready to join the Universe and follow my path. May I find the way to let it happen.

With love,
Alice

Hi Alice,

I second Frank's encouragement "to breathe". I am also a really big fan of the Balance Reiki meditation - it has helped me so much.

When I look at the energy here I see a really positive outcome.

I am keeping you and your family in my prayers and know that the best job will manifest for Evan.

Love and Blessings,
Kat

Dear Kat,

Thank you for being so consistently supportive and caring!

I'm doing lots of focusing on my breath these days and I think it's been helping.

I, too, like that Kundalini Reiki Balance healing. I've been using it daily.

I know we will get through this trying time and one of the best things is knowing I have friends like you cheering us on and holding the best thoughts for us.

Love and light,
Alice

dear alice,

thank you for your sharing. I am sitting here at 4 am unable to sleep asking that my angels help me resolve my job situation. Just recently laid off, and the mother of two kids (one of whom you know quite well, Adin, I was offered an interview in a distant location. Wrong job, wrong place, far from my kids, friends and family. Wrong door.

I am trying to trust the process, the door I pray will open soon. Just finished printing out the schedule from the Gathering Place, a place of healing for our family. that is where I was introduced to Reiki. Perhaps there is some message here. Your faith and trust is inspiring to me. Thank you for being there for Adin, and perhaps our paths will meet again.
I hope that your angels present you with a door of growth for you and your family, as I pray for mine to do so as well.

With hopes for new horizons,

Sarah Kammen

Sarah,

Thank you for your comment. I'm sorry to hear of your job situation and hope that you can have resolution soon. We are both hanging in there and I'm sure that the angels will arrange the right chain of events for resolution.

Please give Adin a hug for me and tell him I think of him often. Keep me posted and I will do the same.

If I can help you in any Reiki-related way, just say the word.

Love, light and blessings,
Alice

Hi Alice, do not dwell on what you do not have... that's a waste of your energy, instead visualize & put your energy into what you see yourself & your family accomplishing

Chi,

Thank you for the very timely reminder. You're right, and I need to remember to do that. Thank you for your comment and support.

Gareth,

Thank you for the comment! Nice quote too - yeah, sometimes it feels like that!

Surrender is a process for me, and I'm working at it, as I'm sure you know. My hubby's interview went well today so we are hopeful some good news is coming soon.

Good to meet another Reiki healer.
Blessings,
Alice
